Default Bullet headlight lamp removal

I've got a bullet light on my 07 FXST. I keep reading to remove the outer set screw. Instead of having several holes with screws like I've seen in most pics, there is just a small slit with no set screw. My issue is the rubber gasket fell apart and my lens is sideways. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

any chance there's a spring loaded tab in that slot?
you know, where you would push a screwdriver in there & push the tab back?

just a thought

I did stick a screwdriver in there. I was able to turn the ring a couple inches. Enough that there is a little movement in the lens. I think the previous owner may have over tightened the ring to compensate for the rubber gasket not being complete. I can tell there are just random pieces of the rubber in there. The ring is turning, it's just tight. Thanks for the suggestion.

Went back to shop a while ago. Bezel turned easily but not coming out. That's when I had an epiphany. The slot is for a screwdriver. Not for a spring, but to start prying it off. Once I realized that, it came off quickly. Must be an off brand from ebay or Amazon. Either way, my headlight is straight again.

Could you share a little more on how you got this headlight apart and the ring removed? I have what I think is the same light but when I put a screwdriver through the slot and push on the outer ring it does not come off, it just separates from the body of the headlight a little. Before I get too aggressive with it I want to be sure what I am doing so if you could provide some additional information I would really appreciate it.

it wasn't screwed in like I thought. It was a friction fit. I used the screwdriver to separate the ring from the body just enough to get my fingernails in the gap. After that, I just kinda pulled and twisted a little and it came right out. To replace, I just pused it right back in. Hope that helps.
