There is more to it than unbolting the bars and pulling up on them to see how high you can go. There has to be enough slack to compensate for turning the bars stop to stop. If your only looking to add a few inches of rise then your probably good. If your end game is to have an ape hanger look or tall riser look then I would probably invest in cables and wires for exactly what you want.

Also make sure you have slack when the suspension is at full extension.

I appreciate all the input. I'll lift them up tonight and see what kind of slack I have. One thing I don't need is a heavier clutch, but that one is easy. What I was worried about was the brake line. I didn't want to have this turn into a whole ordeal, but I guess it is what it is. My hydrolic brake switch is being flaky right now anyway, so I guess it is as good a time as any to pull things apart and replace the brake fluid. Messy, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I'll return and report when I find out if I've got any slack, but Andy is right.... Everything seems pretty tightly tied to the stock configuration right now, so I'm not sure I've got a lot of options.

Alright, update.... I feel like an idiot. Apparently the stock bloody risers are 2". So note for others.... If you are going to get risers then they need to be advertised as taller than 2". Also, the risers from DennisKirk are not threaded holes for the bolts. The main center hole is, but the other holes are not and you have to purchase their hex nut kit. Didn't know that either. Seems like the kind of thing they would just include with the fricken risers since they are required in order to work, but that's just me.

So at the end of the day, still no risers. I just leaned the handlebars backwards a bit more and that brought the grips up in height. I guess that will have to do. Oh well.....
