2015 HD Fatboy with 3800 miles on it. I recently got this fatboy and the first thing I did was a 3 hole fluid change with the Maxima Synthetic oil change kit.
I cant be certain if the noise was present before because I only got to ride the bike one time before the fluid change.
Get down on the ground near the bike while it is running the noise is coming from the primary towards the rear of the bike. (bike is in neutral, does not stop with clutch pulled)
I haven't re-checked the fluid level of the primary yet but I did put around 28-30 ounces of primary fluid in when I did the service.
I've read on this forum of members with similar issues but they have around 20-30k miles on their bikes.
Is this a 'normal' noise then or do I have an early failure of a bearing or other part?

After riding today I discovered that the noise is only prominent after the bike warms up
could be the primary chain tensioner. I had the stock auto adjuster then went to the hayden about 2 years ago, both of these were quiet. I replaced the hayden because the shoe was coming apart. I went with the screaming eagle manual tensioner...its quiet until it gets warmed up then it's a box of marbles at idle and off throttle. Im researching putting in something else...soon. Take the cover off and have a look.
My 16 Deluxe has made that noise since new, On my last oil change I went to HD Heavy synthetic gear oil, SAE 80-140 (at my dealers suggestion, @ 20k, 24k now) It is a lot quieter since, shifts a little smother too.
FWIW. Good luck, Ride safe.
