Softail forward control reach
I’m 5’6” and have owned a sportster and dyna with forward controls on them. The dyna was probably the max length for me. I’m just curious if the softails are the same reach or not? The way the seat sinks down in on some models gives the illusion it may be longer

Depends on the seat. I ride my buddies Dyna wideglide sometimes. I have a Dyna and I have a softail, but my Dyna has mids. I would say his Dyna wideglide is comparable to my softail foot position wise.

Most dynas with forward controls have a longer reach than softails. i am an inch shorter than OP and i still could reach fine on my softail with many types of seats. if you dont want your legs pushed out all the time go with floor boards.
