I put my baffles inside the pipes alittle over 5". I measured 6" from the end of the pipe to where I drilled my hole. Should I have went further in? Would it have gave me better sound? The directions say 5-6" then it said the deeper the better. What have others done?
I put mine 6" in (have Big Shots Staggered pipes). Don't think you would be able to hear the difference from 5" to 6". From what I understand about the Thunder Monsters though, if you turn them around (gunsite closer or further in), there is supposed to be a difference in sound. Haven't tested this yet.
for the big radius its recommended a MINIMUM of 6". If you go deeper you will get a deeper sound supposedly and a non noticable gain in torque (as I was told). Call the company, Jim answered all my questions... was very helpful. I went in 6" and cut the stock baffle to 5 1/4" and stuffed it behind the TM baffle. that seemed to be the best combination of sound and loudness. (see my other thread on this topic doing a search).

The paper work I got with the baffles say for the big radius "between 5-6" I would think the TM baffle and the stock baffle would make it more quiet
