Jez - the 170/60 Metzler has a nice meaty look to it, unfortunately I just had to replace my rear and they no longer make their 170/60/18 so I am having to revert to the Metz 160/60/18 which is still wider looking than other brands, the 170 was so close that I would have had a rub with the 180/55/18 Metz.
hey voodoo, thats a great looking bike! what kind of fender is that on the front?

i just noticed that mega's thing says BANNED USER.....sounds bad to me....i dont think we will get much response...
I noticed that the other day....it's obviously none of my business, but may I ask what happened?
I have read several of his posts and he seems to be very knowledgable. I also thought that he handled the back and forth with Jerry from Hogpro like a gentlemen.
shame to loose someone who seemed like an asset to the board.
I also understand that no one gets banned for no reason.
thanks voodoo, i havent seen any rub yet. i've ridden it about 300 miles so far and havent seen any problems yet. i did do the narrower belt and that gave me a little more room in the belt area. the rear i lowered the regular way but the front i raked a little to get the desired height and look...thanks again guys...this is a cool forum and i think it's a good place to hang around...........

Deuce Dude - Thanks, the front fender is a Fat Katz
Nice looking bike ya got there as well - very nice wheels - I see you have a 200MM and looks like you lowered a bit, any rub?
While we're on this wide tire thing, I have a question due to something I saw this weekend.
A friend rides a '92 Softail Custom. He replaced his rear with a 140 (130 was stock size). Now his belt rubs ocassionally, especially in sharp left-hand turns.
There seems to be at least a finger-width of space on my Deuce between the belt and the stock (160) rear tire. It that enough room to compensate for the Metzler 170, or even the Dunlop 180 without having to change to the newer, more narrow belt?
the other forum i hang out on is an all deuce forum. there are a lot of guys running 180 tires there with all stock parts except a couple of spacers. check this link out.... vulcan

Tried to go to a 180 this time when I did a replace but the room wasn't there - not sure if it is because of the drive side brake kit or what but we just couldn't figure it out.
