Just a thought, but would a housing like mine (199 Road King) otherwise bolt into your bike? Even being a sealed beam, if you could score a housing and drop in an upgraded bulb, I'd bet its still half the cost of a HD daymaker set up?

Wagondog:
You will need to get a #10 3/4 stainless screw for the Headlight trim ring. the stock screw may not be long enough. The Mounting Rings hole isn NOT threaded so you need to run the screw through it before you install the ring.

Also check the Head light adjustment screws and make sure they are screwed in so they have tension on them or they will vibrate loose. I screwed them all the way in and adjusted the light from there.

I was unfamiliar to the headlight upgrades available. At first I did not care for the techno look of the new projector led lights on the old classic Harley. Than after I put thought into this.....how well you see and are seen are much more important than appearance. The new set of headlight and two passing lights come Wednesday.

wheelwanderer, I never thought of changing the light bucket, that may work and if my plan doesn’t maybe yours will.
Lots of RK lamp buckets on eBay

I have those Sunpies too. I paid about $75 for the set a few years ago. That isn’t much better than a quality H4 bulb. If they were to go out tomorrow, I would have gotten my money’s worth.

The 7” projector headlight and projector passing projectors arrived yeasterday. Thanks for the update about needing the longer screw, I’ll have a socket cap screw ready. The kit looks great, very sturdy and well packaged.

Prepare to be ruined for ever. You wont be able to go back to the old halogen after running those and they are pretty much plug and play other than the halo ring.

Today the 7” projector headlight was installed, tomorrow the 2 passing lights will go in. The headlight came with a really nice chromed spring mounted ring that didn’t fit in my stock 00 FLSTC lamp bucket. The only installation I could figure out was to not use the mounting but use everything stock with the new bulb. I’m assuming the light is adjusted from the bucket mount like my O3 Sportster.

Wagondog, Just a question, did you try removing the bucket and use the included mounting ring? The Headlight that i got wouldn't fit in the bucket. I could have modified the bucket by cutting out the back but for the price of the mounting ring ($10) this would give me the option of going back to stock if the headlight goes out and I half to wait for a replacement. Anyway you got it in,

KenK.
