I didn't even realise that kit came with a bike cover. My bike is always garaged so I would never use it like the $250 car cover I used once and now don't know where it is... Looks like I will be ordering the bits seperately.

So from what I understand you have to order 4 different things?

1) The backrest itself
2) The bracket that holds the upper half off the backrest ?
3) the detachable bolt kit
4) blinker relocation kit

and optionally

5) the LOCKABLE detachable things that loader mentioned?

An 08 already? You didn't waste any time!! Looks nice... like that copper colored paint. Looks like a good size windscreen and the same practical backrest that I wanna get.

Does anybody know which windscreen is the one where you can add the auxiliary lighting later on as that is something else I wanna do!

Here you go DeanO,

Pick the height and style you like from the windshields shown with passing lamps:

Yep on the pad, yep on the upper part of the backrest, yep on the detachable side plates, yep on some sort of turn relocation kit(HD, Bubba's, Kurakian(sp), etc...) and yeah if u want them locking clips.. them too... u could go with bubbas detachble system(sideplates for a total chrome thing)...

and on the windshield thing.. with aux lights, u planning on putting a nacelle kit too? then that again is a different shield than just aux lamps... (lol)

been out riding yep, amongst my puter dyn and so i got a kick *** Apple Power book Pro now.. that is unfracking believable in terms of functionality heh

Buy a Honda cover. That will guarantee no one will steal your bike.

If you really want/need to relocate the turn signals I would get one of these instead of the hokey moco relocators.

Yeah but they might steal the Honda cover to cover their Harley so nobody will pinch their bike Either way you lose

Thanks Mimo,

I checked that link and they all seem to be the KING SIZE ones. Does anybody know the part number for the medium height smoked one like on the guy above with the 2008 anniversary model fatboy? I checked the part number he listed next to the screen but that was his backrest pillion pad.

Regards,
DeanO

I'm staying away from saddlebags, instead I have a Boss Bag (#65) that will permanently mount to the fender rack and go everywhere I go.

Since my version of "needed" storage is something I will use everyday, I leaned away from the detachable rear components that I just figured would never come off.

Did you get the Boss Bags yet? That is the exact same idea I had for my Deluxe and havent been able to find pictures yet of a Softail with just a leather "truck" on no saddle bags. I too want the storage for communting to work , etc.
