My adventure at trying to buy a Night Train
I ended up using those hard earned dollerydoos in a highly emotional, poorly thought out sport bike to relive by college years since the cash was burning a hole in my pocket, but quickly remembered why I traded my rock in for a Sportster all those years ago. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy them but after about 20 minutes of riding, my body doesn't. My local dealer who is a good personal friend of mine knows I've been on the lookout for a Night Train all year round and brought in a couple to tempt me to bust out the check book. First attempt had a HD numbered paint set too nice for me to tear into and they sold that within 48 hours of it being at the store, it never reached the sales floor. The second was the one you see below, an 09 that has 11k miles on it but has been sitting for a while in a barn or garage so the paints a little iffy but the motor is mechanically great and pulls strong. There's a few things to go over, rear master cylinder needs rebuilt, few bulbs need replaced, needs a good check for tolerances in many areas but overall something I can dink around with while I still have my 2019 RK Special, which is exactly what I'm looking for. First things first though, those ShitShot V&H pipes gotta go.
are cautious in dealing with them. If the shoe was on the other foot and you had a good experience
with them you would have no problem mentioning their name.
I had a very similar issue with Plourde & Plourde Harley Davidson in Caribou, Maine in 1999. I wanted to
order a Hew Harley Softail Standard. I talked to the salesman about the order over the phone and came to a agreement
on the pricing. To order the bike, they required a deposit so I got in the car and drove 2-1/2 hours to their store to
put some money down. When I got there, they changed the price and wanted $1000.00 more dollars. Pissed me off so bad
I drove directly to Toys for Big Boys in Moncton, NB and ordered the bike. Ended up having a great experience there and still
do business with them today.
