Default Night Train v Softail Standard

I am trying to get hold of one of the few remaining 07 bikes here in Western Australia.

Is there more than just the blacked out parts that separate the night train from the standard. I definitely prefer the black motor to the silver one but its a hefty price tag for it here. It works out to about USD$3500

Both bikes are available with the smooth wheel option.

I notice the low rider has more chrome parts where my street bob had polished aluminium. Is it the same sort of thing with the night train? Other better quality parts? Just a slick MoCo marketing job?

Any help appreciated.

cheers

handlebars and seat I think are the only differences. different colors for the standard the standard would look better with the same finish as the cam and primary covers. Night train is a 1/2" longer according to the moco web site.

I don't like to constantly shine chrome, I think it looks good but... To each their own, I don't like the cast motor either so that is why I went with the night train, let me rephrase, I prefer the black over chrome and cast. I would have changed the bars and seat on a standard or custom anyway, so it was a no brain’r for me. Anyway, you go I believe you will be happy. Truly your style, your preference.

Good luck

Thanks Cavcop

I have compared the specs but it is really the less than obvious items I was chasing.

Does the night train have a billet headlight, chromed billet triple trees, chromed bars instead of stainless etc etc

In Australiathe standard is $24,750 and the NT is $28,495 plus whatever the wheel options are. If it was an extra $1,000 as per the US I wouldn't of asked the question as that seems reasonable for the blackout, seat and bars. The exchange rate is currently $1 Australian is 88 US Cents.

cheers

The handlebars are the difference that will probably matter most to you. Go on a test ride and see how your back likes the Night Train. I find my 'Train to be quite a comfortable ride but my wife can't make it 2 blocks on it without a severe backache. On the other hand, I can't stand riding her Roadking,so the only way for you to choose is to see which feels best when you ride.

When I did thepost it was side by side and looked better (not as long).

The seat and handle bars are about the only difference other than the black out look I know of.

Thats a lot of money for a Harley down there. But you have better Fordsthen up here. Sounds like supply and demand. Maybe the Standard will sell and the Night Train will come down in cost as the 08's arrive...or they both sell.
