Default 422 shock

I have a 16 Slim, sets very low, but I love the bike. I do not want to hear about the ,Rap, I don't need that. I'm solo only and 190 lbs. After I get it adjusted I never will need to re adjust. Anyone that has took out the stock shocks for the Progressive 422, do they ride smoother on small sharp bumps. Yes or no. Thanks.

Yes. A much improved ride over the stock shocks.

Cheers!

Yes for the same height, if you lower them than stock they ride a tad harder

I'm assume that is because you need to tighten up the sprrings to compensate for the loss of travel. My Slim already sets low. I want to add more travel so I can lighten up the sprrings
I'm hoping this will make it ride smoother

I went on a road trip with maybe 50lbs of gear back in July, first big ride with the new shocks, with the shocks left at factory lightest setting. A bit too soft. When I got home, (too late, I know) I cranked in one turn of preload and it still rides better than the factory shocks.
I'm the same size and weight as you.
