2017 heritage running light install ( help)
My brother purchased a 2017 heritage softail and I believe the security system is on. The red light is flashing on his speedometer.
He purchased the kit from Harley to make his rear signal lights running lights. Its a pretty easy plug and play under the seat. Here is the issue, it says to disable security system before installing and remove main fuse. Are these two things really necessary? Ive never disabled a security on a Harley but I did watch a couple videos this morning on how to.
any advice would be appreciated!

Yes you NEED to turn on the ignition first then disconnect the main battery, otherwise the alarm will go off (if you start to disconnect the battery without disarming the alarm), don't ask me how I know
