Hey there! Been having trouble logging in for ages so I've got some questions saved up specifically for this forum as in my experience this is the most reliable source for anything Regarding HD or 2 wheels related! So I'll start off with this one!
First of all I ride a 2003 heritage softail classic and enjoy working on it almost as much as I am obsessed about riding it! I will be replacing the riser bushings this week and was thinking i would love to raise the height of the bars with minimal Labour involved and minimal cash spent! So my question is a 2 part question 1 for each new part and install.
1) bushings: what type, style, brand would you experienced softail owners recommend?
2) risers: what is my riser limit retrofit without changing any stock cables or making any other costly or labour intensive moves?
I am a 6'3 200lbs 50yr old humble beginner to Harley Davidson, any advice or direction has always and will remain to be very appreciative and grateful,if you've taken the time to read this post I seriously appreciate that and if you've read it and have some knowledge and or experience you can offer then thanks in advance!🇨🇦🇺🇸✌
T Fatboy hit it. I just changed risers yesterday from 2” height to 4” rise and 2” pullback with stock length cables. I had to reroute the clutch cable and that was it.. been having shoulder problems and the small change in height and pullback did the trick. Did a hundred mile ride yesterday and didn’t experience the pain anymore. I have stock FX Springer bars for reference.

I was riding the Heritage yesterday and my shoulder and elbow was giving me fits. I was thinking I should try some risers with some pullback. You said it made a big difference with 4 in rise and 2 in pullback? Could I ask how tall are you?
