Default Dashcam on a softail?

Heading to the shop for some work this past weekend I was almost taken out by a driver that never saw me before crossing the highway right in front of me.

I kept the bike upright and know my heart is working well LOL but it left me thinking about a dashcam for the bike.

Has anyone installed one and do they have a pic of the camera location(s)?

I've narrowed my choices to the Thinkware M1 and the Innovv K2.

Thanks.

I have the INNOVV K2 but it's on a Road Glide so I can't really be much help with mounting locations. I can tell you its a quality product and I'm very satisfied.

Thank you for the reply. I was moving towards the INNOVV K2 and glad to hear a good review.

One question if you don't mind, how do you find the video/sound quality if you download off the SD card?

The video is good, it uses a very wide angle lens and captures a lot. Nearby license plates are easily read which could be good in the case of hit & run accidents. The sound is soso at best.

Any idea of the K2 can fit in the FLST headlight cowls?

OP let us know if you end up going with the K2 also in the market for one after a hard fought insurance battle

I placed the order for the K2 today. I have some ideas on where to mount the cameras but will need to wait until I have it in hand before finalizing placement. I will update once completed.

Looking at the specs of both units mentioned, they are very similar, but in my opinion (for what it's worth), the Innovv K2 is the better unit. It accepts up to a 256GB Memory Card, which allows for more recording time before it starts to overwrite the oldest videos. It is also a little bit less expensive. Looking at their website, they also offer a helmet camera setup with the same camera. Pretty impressive! I'm thinking about getting it myself. I have been using (when I decide to fiddle with it), a 360 degree camera and a GoPro. With those, I can never record long enough to cover my rides from start to finish, and they are difficult to start and end recording. I like that the Innovv K2 starts recording 10 seconds after the bike starts, and stops automatically. I would like to know more about what it does when the bike is off. I saw something that alluded to taking pictures when it's off, but the website didn't go into detail.

Riding season is pretty much done for me so the bike is at the shop. Doing a few things before storing but I'll let you know how the install and operation go for the K2. I don't have the manual with me but will reply when I find out what happens when the bike shuts down.
