I have a TC 88, I did this kit in the spring. Let me tell you it woke my bike up beyond my expectations, once I scheduled the dyno tune, I was blown away by the seat of the pants power. It was expensive but the best thing I could've done, with the 2up riding and heavy touring I do it made a huge difference.

Not taking anything away from your experience but there's alot of expense in that kit he doesn't need and better cam choices for a 103 in a softail. He need not spend but a third of that really for better results. $650 - $700 would do cams, lifters, adjustable pushrods, and bearings. He's already chain drive with the hydraulic tensioners, and the cam plate and pump, while pretty, aren't necessary either.

Wow! Thanks 60Gunner! I'm really just looking a bit more power but also maintain dependability.
Just recently it started acting a bit strange:
at a stop the idle will occasionally go up to 1400~1600... when I try to blip the throttle, it nearly dies.
This doesn't happen constanty, but it has started to happen more often.
Get yourself a can of throttle body cleaner , remove the air cleaner and place a rag inside , at the top you'll notice pintle , spray some tb cleaner up into it , turn your ignition on and you will see the pintle cycle open / close , sprat tb cleaner in short bursts , should clean out all the gunk that's built up . Once your done that , clean the tb and butterfly , that should clear up your idle issue .
If above does not remedy the issue , check for intake leaks , while bike is warmed up at idle , spray a little tb cleaner on the intake seals and injector seals , if the rpm's change after spraying , you have a leak .

Thanks, I was just sharing my thoughts on something I did, purely adding other choices for the OP, there's a ton of cam options out there, I went solely on the recommendation and several great reviews I read regarding Feuling.

You're a heavier bike and ride 2up in an 88 with less compression and those cams are made for that. From what I understand they're great in trikes too. You also needed all that conversion stuff being an older 88.
Being a newer 103, higher compression ratio, and a softail mostly riding solo, he has better options is all.
