Default RE: extended warranty worth it?

I have had the unlucky flat tire three times. First time new tube, they fixed it for free, 2nd time same thing, 3rd time new tire needed, replaced for free. The first 2 during year one. The last one 2 years later.
If I need a starter, etc, 50 bucks instead of hundreds and hundreds!!!!!!
my bike is covered for 7 years, I am sure that it will be worth every penny!
Worry free riding!!!!!!

Hell no. If they can't honour warranty on the tranny clatter problem why would I go with an extended warranty that may very well be worthless if you did mods to the bike.

Worthless if you do mods? No way. The Moco would have to prove w/o a shdaow of a doubt that the particular mod caused the failure. Just because you put pipes and a Sert on and your tranny takes a dump doesnt mean they will deny your warranty. It has nothing to do w/ the problem. You people out there that think your warranty is voided because you do mods to your bike need to do a little research . Just search the site, theres tons of threads on this very subject.

Consumer Reports Magazine has ALWAYS said that an extended warranty is RARELY worth the money. Last time I saw their recommendation....they said ONLY for a laptop computer. That money is just extra gravy for the dealer.

I bought the extended 7 yrs total coverage. With my deal after the 7 are up, if the bike is uner 70k I can renew the coverage and it will cover everything like the bike was new. Not a bad deal if you ask me

Simple....first of all like any insurance they make money off it or they would not sell it, period. So chances are you lose. BUT if you end up needing it then you made a good choice. Odds are you lose but then peace of mind is worth something as well. Remember if you do any mods, and chances are you will before your 2 year is up, then you lose for sure. Good luck.

Extended warranties are for suckers ... right up to the moment you need them. Then they are the BEST investment you'll ever make. I've purchased extended warranties on all my recent vehicle purchases, and in each case I've had to use the warranty. Most recently my wife broke down in Vegas with our daughter (who is partially paralyzed and in a wheel chair). The warranty cost me $800 and the repair bill on that one occasion was over $1200. The warranty also provided a rental car for my wife and daughter while the car was in the shop. So was the warranty worth it? You bet!

The HD warranty, as I understand it, not only covers the repairs but also covers up to $75 a day for rental vehicle as well as some of the other costs associated with a break down away from home (motel, meals, etc.). Since Iput about 8000 miles a year on road trips (not the mention the miles on local commutes) thenthe warranty means not having too worry nearly as much when I'm 2000 miles from home.

Long and short of it ... warranties are for suckers ... right up to the moment you need one.
