I would just like some opinions, as this sort of bothers me. Why do people choose to buy a Heritage Classic, then go about completely changing it's looks. I see brothers and sisters every day asking about putting bags on or off, changing to hard bags, removing bags, installing apes or big *** front wheels. My question is, if you want to customize the bike so badly, why not buy a much less expensive Softail standard and go at it. In my view, the Heritage Classic is just that, a Classic. Leave it alone lol. I'm somewhat guilty in customizing, but mine is the invisible kind, such as power performance type where you'd never know I did something to it. I guess us old timers call them "sleepers".
I just really like the Heritage Classic, and think that some of these customized ones just destroy the classic looks. I'm sorry if I upset some folks. Just giving my opinion, It's your bike and your money.
Comments are welcome. A CLASSIC.

It is a Harley. It is what we did day, we keep doing it year after year. Line up 100 owners and you will have 300 reasons. This is one of the things that sets HD apart. No limit to what you can do to them. No rules. Your check book, skills and dreams are all that limits you.

I think they way people customize their cars, trucks and bikes is a reflection of their personality and way to express themselves.
I like my trucks lifted
cars low and loud
and when I look at a bike Im seeing inspiration, ideas and a work of art. Some things I like, some I dont, but its all good.
Stock just aint for me. I put apes and pipes on my bike today, and Im just getting started....
Why do some people choose to buy a Heritage with those classic looking leather saddlebags and then let those saddlebags go to ****? It just detracts from the "classic" look of the bike. If you're not going to take care of the saddlebags then why not buy a Deluxe or Fatboy?
