Default Pull turn signal wires from handlebars

2006 Fatboy CVO. Factory handlebars. Has anyone of you pulled just the turn signal wires thru the handlebars without pulling all the other wires with them? I want to relocate the turn signals to the forks, but don't really want to pull all wires out of the bars just to get the turn signal wires out.
The bars are 1.25" even at the clamp, so they look like there should be plenty of room. I just wonder if all the wires are in the plastic tubing inside the bars, or if the turn signals are separated from the rest of the wires?

Also, can the gas tank be slid backwards to access the turn signal connectors without having to deal with the fuel lines?

Thanks to all,
Michael

I'm not 100% about the wires. My wires were never internal until I put them there. But for the second question, put a towel on top of the front rocker cover and you can slide the tank back JUST BARELY enough to access the clips that connect the signals.

I believe they are incorporated in a loom. Do yourself a favor and pull the tank. An extra hour or so of time but well worth it when you try pulling the wires back thru. 1-1/4” is tight pulling 8 wires even with those bars. You will be pissed at yourself if you ding that paint job up.

You were right sir, I was able the get the tank back a couple inches, just enough to wrestle the plug off.

Once I mastered getting the pins out of the connector, I was ready to try pulling the wires thru the bars. After disassembling the left control housing and wrapping the pins in a little electrical tape, I was able to pull the left wires out of the bars.

It was time to quit for the night, but I feel like the other side should be much the same.

Thanks!

Yes, it would suck to ding the tank. I went with a couple thick towels covering the tank and taped them on. I think it's gonna protect it just fine.

And I am only pullIng the turn signal wires out, leaving the rest. I'm just gonna move the signals to the forks. Everything else stays as it is. I have some hand guards I bought to cut the wind to my fingers this winter, but the turn signals are in the way.

Plus the next project might be some apes, so getting the signals moved now means not having to worry about them later.

Being the wires to the turn signals comes from the TSM/TSSM under the tank, leave them in the bars disconnected and run new wires to the forks.

Okay. Got her done. I Like the turns much better on the forks. Also, got the wind guards installed. Took a little adjustment, but I think they will perform exactly as needed, and simple to remove in the spring.
