I have a 2004 softail standard FI with a high flow k&n filter with vance and hines big shots without the baffles and I haven't been able to find any info on what cams I can use and if they are chain or gear. I have a pretty aggressive riding style and would like some more pull low to mid range but not take any away from the top speed. Im also gonna add a power commander.
sorry in advance if I sound stupid im new to the harley scene.
Would highly recommend using a Power Vision (or MasterTune) flash type tuner over the
older "piggyback" style Power Commander. The flash tuners are better & more reliable.
I went with the gear drive set up to eliminated the spring load cam chain tensioners and cam chains. I heard horror story of the problems with spring tensioners. The hydraulic ones are a different story.
I am running the Andrews 37 chain drive cams in my 98." They were the first mod I made before the big bore. They are just a little soft off the line, not much, but they are in a stock 88". But I still loved them and still do. A very versatile cam. They have a great idle. I would suggest baffles in your BSs. You won't lose any noise and your bike will run better. Trust me.

Thanks for the input. I've been looking into the andrews 21 cams because they have been the most recommended but ill have to look at the 37s. I took the baffles out when I got the bike because the previous owner had the quiet baffles in and it kinda sounded like a tractor lol but I've been looking into a replacement baffle that doesn't muffle the sound a whole lot.
I was also looking at the se 204 cams because they sound great but I can't seem to find any that fit my bike for some reason.
Andrews 26 is another real good choice. It has a little more low end in a stock 88" and will still perform well if/when you go with a big bore.
I use the DKCustoms Thunder Torque Inserts, which is a modified lollipop design. LOVE them. The only issue is that you have to cut holes in the back of the heat shields to install them. If you're careful, it can be done and hardly tell you did this unless you look for it. Another option I tried was taking the wrap off the quiet baffles.
How many miles on the bike?
I installed an Andrews 21; I love it. Pulls right off the line and doesn’t fall flat at higher rpm’s; but doesn’t scream at redline either. Sounds like your style of riding is a bit more aggressive than mine; you should look at an Andrews 37 or 48, or similar style cam.
