Forward Control Outboard Spacers?
Does anybody know where I can get outboard spacers for forward controls? I have an '02 Softail and would like to move the pegs/controls outboard 1" and would like to do it by putting a spacer between the frame and controls. Not looking to just increase the length of the pegs. A source of supply and a part number would be great.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I don't know that I've ever seen a kit to do what you're wanting to do. When I put my Arlen Ness extensions on, I did something similar though. I went to one of the local steel supply houses and got a piece of 3/4" steel. I cut it to the shape of the extensions and bolted it between my extensions and the frame. It will work for you in the same way, just put it between the controls and the frame mounts. You can pick it up pretty cheap. Just ask for the thickness you're looking for and tell them you want a "drop" piece. That's what they call scrap. Basic tools are all you'll need to fab it up. A grinder being the biggest tool. Not difficult at all. Good luck.

Joe,
Thanks for the reply and help. I have full machining capability and can cut a set out. The bigger problem I have is obtaining the hole pattern. Is it available anywhere, short of removing the controls and making a pattern? It would be nice to fab the spacers, remove the controls and install the spacers. I have access to 1" alum. jig plate, stainless and tool steel. Just need the hole pattern, even if it'sa tracing from an old set of controls.
Thanks,

I had the luxury of having the extensions to use as a pattern. Without that, you may have to remove your controls and make a pattern. Not sure of any other way to do it.
Good luck with it.
Good luck with it.
