Thinking about warming upthe motor in my carberated 02 Heritage. I was going for the 95" but a friend has a 05 FI Heritage and he did a 103" so it has me thinking. It's a little more money but I know a good wrench and I think I can get it for around $1,500 or the 95 for $1,200.
Can anyone give me the pro's & con's to help me make this decision?
Thanks,
Marsh
Would milage have anything to do with the decision. I have 21,000 miles on mine and understand that stroking a motor causes more wear due to faster piston travel. Should I be concerned?

i concur, no replacement for cubic displacement. a buddy just recently bumped his '03 fatboy from a 103" with a 10.5:1 c/r to a 106" with a 12.5:1 c/r. man, you talk about a difference! like night and day. my only concern is reliability and longevity out of this type of motor/compression ratio.
Mild 103's are plenty reliable but I'd like to know how you can do one that cheap.
The 103" kit in the new accessories book is $2995.95 for the parts alone.
The 95" kit is only 639.95.
Even if you get a better deal on the parts they'd still be more than $1500 before installation.

What difference would you current mileage make?
Everything internal gets replaced.

How was the performance difference when he went from 88 to 103? Was it so dramtic a difference as to justify the proceedure?

I am only repeating what my friend told me. Be aware that HD is not the only supplier of these parts and I assume anything sold by the MoCo willcarry a premium price.
