Just curious if anyone has installed batwing on a Heritage with the HD air deflectors. Mine is an 04 and the way the air deflectors attach to windshield hardware I could see that it could be a problem. I'm just thinking out loud but I really like the batwing look and even though I'm old (74) I still enjoy music and thought it would be easier with batwing setup. I now have windshield bag that I use my phone on bluetooth for amplified speakers on handlebars. Suggestion appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Possibilities are endless on stereo choices for a batwing fairing, you can purchase a Reckless (Mess) fairing with their plug and play system. While it may be suitable for most around town it just wasn't going to be enough for me. I opted to purchase a blank slate and have a system built to suit my audio needs. I'm spinning nearly 500 watts out of 2 Ground Zero Coax GZ's with a Sound Digital 800 watt Amp and Kenwood head unit. I had my system set up professionally, although not cheap, but certainly worth every penny. There's a few faring choices out there that offer plug and play. But anything pushing 2 speakers or more is going to require more then a 300 watt amp. Most of the cookie cutter systems won't be pushing much more.
Really like this set-up. I see you have air deflectors even though i have the HD air deflectors they should be close. Does this fairing attach with the quick release windshield clips or is it attached to the handlebars? Also tell me about the lower fairing. Bike looks like a Heritage Ultra Classic. Thanks for your help.

Leon, I know Blue has the lower fangs on his, I do not. The Reckless comes with it's own mounting brackets and hardware. They're quick realese so to speak, when you fasten the fairing bracket to same location as the windshield, you tighten down the hardware provided in the kit, so it's no so easily removed when you're parked somewhere over night. If the want to steal it, they'll need tools.

Thanks for the response, this really helps. I'm 74 years old so I'm not interesting in waking the neighborhood with my sound system (lol) but I like the looks of your set up. Now if I can figure out how to pay for this without my wife finding out life will be good.
Lol, this is something I don't have to worry about. My only problem is trying to keep the stereo volume to a comfortable level, but they just sound so much better the louder the get.
Good luck.

We've been married for 53 years, so I've used this saying too many time already (lol) plus I'm making it sound worse than it is. Again thanks everyone for the reply.
