LOL dmac1968 I see where your going with the joke. I just got off the phone with the insurance adjuster and my deductible is more than what it is going to cost to fix so I think I will just fix it myself. Besides doing it myself I may be able to talk momma out some "must have" parts for the bike to run right again.
Originally I was gonna say "...and that's why you have better breath than the rest of us!" Hehehehe
Glad you're ok after the dingle, that's the main thing!
As for the parts... there's always tomorrow and there's new better parts coming!!

Scrappy, glad to hear the damage was minimal to both you and the bike. As you know, it could have been a LOT worse!
I've found a fool-proof way to keep my eyes focused on the road and not the hotties around me.. bring your wife with you when you are riding. The pounding in the back of the head that you will experience IF you look WILL keep you focused on the task at hand....
Mine is a compact 66 model with reasonably low mileage for the manufacture date. The only body mod is a removable 3" lift kit but she is typically returned to stock height in the evenings and on weekends. Noperformance mods. All maintenance records are also up to date and saved to file. She typically runs real smooth until she gets around somenewer models with more accessories and then she tends to sputter, shakeand spit a little. The trouble is intermittant and I haven't been able to isolate root cause since the trouble isn't easily replicated. I have noticed the troubletypically happens at beaches, clubs and the occasional motorcycle rally.

I believe you may have it backwards, with that kind of an offer, your behind the 8 Ball already.
Any further comments or statements on your part will only put you farther behind, not ahead.
Think of it this way, if you were digging a hole instead of extroling the virtues of some trade goods.
The more you say about it,or dig, the deeper the hole you wind up in.
Keep it up for too long and the wife who might have gladly helped you out yesterday.
May now decide to cut her losses and just fill in the hole.
Glad to hear it went the way it did.
Just left Germany and know it could have gone alot worse. You will heal the bike can be fixed.
Good luck with the repairs, Dsrt Doc
