Leaky carb

Seriously, that is one ugly carb. One of the ugliest I have seen. it's either leaking a ton, and/or been leaking for awhile....
If that were my bike...
I would remove the carb, completely disassemble it, and give it a thorough cleaning. You may consider borrowing or renting a sonic cleaner to get to all the passages in the throttle body. Short of a sonic cleaner, I would soak that carb body for a couple days in a good solvent, then with pipe cleaners and compressed air, clean out the passages as much as humanly possible. I would use emery cloth to clean up any stains in the throttle body and be sure the area where the slide operates is smooth and clean.
I would then reassemble it with all new wear parts: gaskets, o-rings, diaphragm, float valve, float, and probably even a new slide.
Here is a good reference for info and parts for the CV40 carb...

Of course, if you are just bragging about it leaking, staining the motor, and smelling like gas.... great job..!
You didn't ask a question, but rather just made a statement... are you bragging?
