Ugh... Its August... do we really have to talk about Winter yet? Here in VT we only get like a month of summer [8D]

Anyway....

My Winter prep is simple and quick ...

-remove Battery and bring it inside (heated basement) for the winter.
-leave the bike in the Garage (unheated), a little dry-gas and stabil in the tank.
-Cover with breathable cover.

Heard of folks parking on cardboard or a sheet of plastic when leaving the bike on cold concrete for a long time.. looking forward to reading what others do...

I do the following:

Change oil. (If Dyno)
Fill tank, add appropriate amount of seafoam.
Plug battery into battery tender.
Start and run till warm.
Cover bike.

Don't forget to visit Her at least once a Month and remind her how beautiful she is. :-)

It can get down to -20 here, never had a problem.

My garage is heated, so I have no personal experience with Harley storage over the winter. My dad, on the other hand, has been storing Harley's in his unheated garage for over 50 years with no issues. He just takes the battery out and puts it in the basement (which is heated) with no charger on it.

BTW, we both are in the Twin Cities also. Oh yeah, I agree with the others...QUIT TALKING ABOUT WINTER!

Since you guys brought it up, I live in Texas where winter is only for about 2 months a year, and never what you guys up north experience. I travel a lot with my job, sometimes months at a time, where the bike would maybe get ridden once a month or once every 6 weeks. Question is this, what storage steps should be taken?

Winter storage my *ss! Not for my Springer And I am from the Deep South (Live in Pa. now)and hate the cold with a passion ( that's what winter clothes are for) AsI did last yearI will ride all year long! HellI even inadvertantly caught snow on a ride ( although it sucked).
