I've had that happen on all kind of bikes. I thought is was because the headlight was higher up than a car headlight and more eye level with people sitting in cars.
Had the same problem, especially when stopped behind cages. My 07 Fatty was not PD'd properly and they didn't adjust the headlight correctly.
Simple way is to get your car -the lights should be set ok from factory (make surethe vehicle has not had the front replaced/repairedby the auto repair shopand you have had no headlight complaints from others) - park it 20 yards or so away from a wall, square on and turn the lights on low beam and make a note of the horizontal line which is the alignment height you should need - make a mark on this line with a piece of tapethen move the car and roll your bike into the same position.
Adopt an uprightposition and turn on the bikes low beams and check how far you are out. Make your adjustments from there.
You may want to sneak an inch in extra just to let those around you know you are there.
Real simple way without the use of a tape measure and it helps to take into account different weights/loads.
If your lamps are aimed properly it's their problem. You may not like the look but I put visors on my main and passing lamps, it seems to reflect the lighting more on the raod.
I have a HD high output bulb of some sort , leave it on the hi-beam always on the devided highways . What a car can run over with no issues can ruin your day miserably on a bike . Screw the cagers , my safety is more important and quite a few of them run their hi-beams anyway .
Yeah If your behind me with your High beams on you better have good brakes cause I do. How can any one run around blinding people than say Fu%% It's there problem I'm looking out for My safety???? Come on riding every where with your High beams on? Are we all that scared?? Go get your light's aimed properly than every one will be safe.
