Not sure about the rest of you .But lateley Every one and there dog on 2 lane HIWAY has been giveing me the brights in order to get my to go to my low beams .The Problem is my low beams are already on so lately its beena you hibeam me i hibeam u back game .Its really starting to get on my nerves .Just curious if any of you are running into the same situation? with 07 or same type of headlamp.
I used to get this all the time with my truck after I installed Silverstar bulbs. It's REALLY frustrating. I usually would flash the highs really quickly to show them that I was already using my lows. Either that, or hold the lever so that the highs and lows burned at the same time. It was really bright then. I don't think my dad has had any problems like this on his Deuce, but surely someone else has. Do you think it's the headlamp design, or that everyone is just accustomed to old, foggy, yellow headlamps?
My dad had a '00 Fatboy, and my wife and sister both have '07 Sportsters. I noticed when they were behind me that my dad's Fatboy headlight wasn't nearly as bright as the Sportsters' headlights. I even asked my wife and sister if they had their brights on because there was so much of a difference. My dad told me he noticed their headlights were a lot brighter than my '05 Deuce as well. The newer bikes must have brighter headlights than the older ones.
In the old days a visor was mounted to the headlight to shade the beam and keep it from shooting too high. I didn't affect any thing but the light broadcast into the trees and eyes of oncoming traffic. They clip into the retaining ringof the headlight. Should be able to find them in the major catalogues. They might actually help the problem.
