I am contemplating putting quiet baffles in my VH Bigshots. Will this give me some torque back? I have an '06 FLSTCI with the Big Bore II and 203 cams and it seems real doggy from a stop. My dad has an '04 Wide with no engine mods and screaming eagle slip-ons. I thought I would show him up after I got my mods and he smoked me from a stop. We switched bikes, then I smoked him. I am not all about speed or anything like that, I just want the power I paid for. This is my first bike and I had the mods done to the bike before I even took delivery of it last year. So, i was never able to compare the before and after and just thought i now had a faster than average Harley. I was wrong! Also, will I have to get the ecm flashed again if I put baffles in it?
I got what felt like a little more torque when I put quiet baffles in my V&H BSS. Also liked the sound. And no I didn't have to change the ECM map.
I just put mine in. I have an 07 Heritage with BSL's. I do feel like there is a bit more torque there, but I'm not sure its worth it. I was really getting to love the big sound of the straight baffles. I did notice it being a little doggy in places before, but compared to the SE pipes I had before, it was still hands down better.
Also, with the 07, the straight baffles really cancel out and more alot of the very unpleasant engine and tranny noise that comes out of this bike, especially in 5th gear. Don't get me wrong, they are still loud, but you will definitely notice a "muffle" that takes the edge off these pipes.

Could be alot of different reasons. Was the bike dynoed and remapped? What numbers are you pulling HP/TQalso those 203 Cams are not known for low end torque anyway.
Did you have any Head work done? This is where you would see a difference with the Big Bore.
I never had it dyno'd. I had the dealer do teh mods and all they did was download a new map from Harley. it doesnt have a pcIII or anything. It also has stock heads. I still dont see how i cant take my dads bone stock 88 off the line though!
