Took them out last year and found it hard to believe the bike seemed to have more torque all across the board. Couple weeks ago I put them back in and did indeed seem to have less torque. Rode a couple hours yesterday, came home, let the pipes cool and removed them again. Bike definitely has more torque without the baffles. Besides, I was tired of metric bikes I sometimes ride with, mostly on PGR missions being louder than mine. Noise ordinances yada yada. Its my bike and I like the way it sounds and performs without the baffles!!!
I know how you feel. I bought a pair of SE slip-ons that I loved the looks of, just too quiet. Put the Samson fishtails back on and it does seem to have more power.
yes it is your bike, however your rights end when the noise enters other folks homes where we all have the right to peace and quiet. have a little respect for our laws and other people.

The guy next door has a lawnmower and a leaf blower. What are you going to do about that? Do you have a picture of Al Gore on your wall?

What type of mufflers or exaust did you remove the baffles from?
I got yelled at one evening by a neighbor on the street above ours when i started my FLSTF up when I had V&H pipes with baffles in! It was 9 PM and I was just putting it in the garage and not revving the engine since it was just warming up.
10 PM is when you gotta chill out from making noise that is deemed loud. Anyway that was 2007 and do not have the bike anymore. Just saying.

I think with the fishtails being around a 2.25" diameter you are getting more back pressure over the bigger SE mufflers. Seems to be the key. Although what the OP posted, doesn't make since because now the back pressure has been reduced with the baffles out.
there is no laws reguarding lawnmowers and leak blowers, there are noise laws for motor cycles. Not trying to get into a pissing contest with anyone on this site, I have very little to say here. However this subject is an issue that create a lot of problems for all motorcycle riders. Im just saying we all should obey our laws and show respect to others.
