Are you thinking of slipons or a total exhaust?

I have rinehart TD. Although they are a bit more expensive, its worth it for the great sound and performance.

They are the tops in my book.

V&H Big Shot Longs, very happy with these. I have a standard SE stage I download and seem to run great, not too hot, but loud and torquey!

I just picked up the '07 HSC just over a week ago and have been looking at different options. One that I came across today and really like is the Vance & Hines Softail Duals ... though I've not seen them live yet.

http://www.vanceandhines.com/a116_so...ns_stl07.html#

The V&H seem a bit high on price ($675 MSRP), and I've found them so far at Dennis Kirk for $639. Here's a picture of the kit, which shows the two seperate head pipes, from that site ...

The V&H also have a quiet baffle ($29) and a set of fishtail tips if you like the nostalgic look. Total price form a discount shop like DK wouldl likely be under $700, with free shipping. I just wish I knew how much louder than my stock pipes these will be. I don't want to break any windows.

Oh yeah ... I'm not 100% the V&H will fit the '08 models, so you'll want to double check on that. My understanding is that some of the manufacturers don't have pipes for some '07 and very few of the '08 models.

I recently rode with another '07 HSC which had the HD slip-on mufflers (baloney cut, if I remember) and I was surprised at how quiet they were. I don't think they were much more than 10% louder than the stock mufflers ... if any at all.

A friend bought a new Softail Custom a few days before me and is getting the Screaming Eagle pipes on his. I've not heard it yet (hope to early next week), and from I have heard it does add some growl to the system.

Here's the pic from the V&H site for the duals ... really nice looking if you ask me. (Oh yeah ... you did ask me).

I have a06 Softail Heritage Classic with the 88 cubic inch. After the 1000 mile check up I hada Vance and Hines 2 into 1 Pro-Pipe HS installed. Also the Screaming Eagle EFI Race Tuner and Stage I Air Cleaner.Turn key through the dealer was $1150.00
The Dyno Research results were as follow:

Before Power 69.61 HP After Power 75.24
Before Torque 73.40 After Torque 76.39

Runs great. No problems. Smooth through the gears. No popping orexcessive backpressure. I like the 220 degree heat shield. No bluing. I like the deep rumble when your cruising at 70mph.When you push it through the gears it's plenty loud for this
old Harley rider. You can buy a competition baffel for this pipe if you want it louder.I hope this helps and ya'll be careful.

Just installed Python staggered duals,, PC III and Big Sucker. Really nice, sounds great and Pythons are made by Vance and Hines fro drag specialties. Love the extra torque.
