Will a seat from a 2004 Fatboy fit on a 96 SOFTAIL HERITAGE?

Anythings possible, albeit with a "little" modification... but I don't think this is a straight across, bolt-on swap between the two..

I did a quick check on some softail seats, and there seem to be a couple manufacturers who list common fitments between '84 to '99, and then '00 to '06....

Good luck and let us know what you find as a definitive answer...

I'm going to go with "no". They changed the frame in 2000. I can tell you from personal experience that a seat from a 1990s Softail Custom does not fit my 2005 Night Train. I supposed it COULD be modified.

In summer of 2000, I had Corbin make me a seat in Hollister. They only had the earlier pan. It fit fine, just the tab had to be moved.
99 & prior Softails had a strap holding the battery down. 00 up does not. The stk seat had a snubber to hold the battery
down. The guy riveted a little bumper on the new seat pan. As snug as those batt cables are, that battery isn't moving.
