I was practicing the slow turns and figure 8's today, I thought I wonder if I'm getting close to making these turns within the cones. Then scrape left, switch scrape right. I think I'm making the turns tight enough, now I have to learn not to scrape the boards. LOL I don't want to have to replace them.

There's lots of guys that modify their boards. As mentioned, spark bolts, or plastic on the bottom so they drag quietly. Just don't tighten the mounting bolts so tight they don't fold. And the first time you realize you've ground them too much is when the knife edge you created by scraping them rips your leg open.

Sparks, I love it. Remember runnin pack and those behind me freakin out I was throwing so many into the curves.
Word of caution would be a pothole your floorboard caught, other than that enjoy the sparks.

I used to ride with a guy I called "Sparky" because of the way he rode. He'd constantly be checking his "chicken strip". I'm like it's a Fatboy not a canyon carver! It was a beautiful sight at sunset to see those flame throwers though.

If you ever watch a motor officer competition, and a cop doing it on a Harley, they will not only scrape the foot boards, but they will also tilt them up quite a bit...
