I would buy the NT and then purchase the Custom's seat and mini apes...... then you have the total black out... of course I'm prejudice...

you guys are 100% right. the NT is about 1200 cheaper in price, so after adding the apes and a sundowner, i will still be saving $500 so that will pay for my tri-bar and smoked LED taillights. It may even cover part of the a/c! I love this idea.

The downside to the NT is the lack of color options. If that's not an issue, go for the NT. I was thinking about doing that same thing, but decided to get the Custom instead. I changed my mind about blacking out the motor, but I'm gonna black out a lot of other stuff.

my decision is basically how much i prefer the blacked out engine over the paint scheme. If I can find a pacific blue NT, I am thinking that look if preferable to me over the elwood/jake custom.

Yes, Its easier to change the bars and seat compared to blacking out the engine. Dont worry about the paint. You can always find some Softail Custom tins(sheet metal) take offs on ebay. Ive seen them go as cheap as 350.00 plus shipping. That would be a bad as train/custom lookin bike. Im personally goin for the train/fat boy look.

i don't know which way is cheaper. the night train's bars and seat would have to go right away, therefore racking up a good sized service cost. with the custom I can throw the balcked out parts on there for less that the price of the bars/seat...at least I figured it would be less. Maybe not. I guess that is something I should find out.
Thats funny. The reason I bought the NT and not the Custom is for the bars and seat. Otherwise I would have bought a custom. Im actually getting alot of chrome for my nightrain. PM me. We can swap some parts. I already have changed the air cleaner, horn cover, coil cover, and outer primary. I have all the black stuff just sitting around. Im looking into the fender struts, belt guard, rear wheel ( I have the black center one), and possibly more. If you want to swap. I will swap about everything. Let me know

You should love the Black Pearl color. Mine is BP, and it seems to take on the hue of whatever it's around. Park by some trees, it looks kind of green etc, etc...you get the picture.

Shines up real nice too
