Default place for fork tool bag on night train?

I got the nice HD tool bag for the front fork. I got it below my headlight now. The problem is when I ride, the wind blows open the middle of the bag. (I lost my garage remote yesterday) Is there something I can do to keep it closed? tried velcro, no luck. Any ideas? I really don't like it above my headlight either. But I still think it will come open up there too.
thanks alot.

What kinda of closure is on this tool pouch??? I never had this problem since my bag has a zipper and a velcro closure. Of course it's not an HD but from leather connexions. Not trying to pick on your bag but it doesn't sound like too much thought went into it if it opens while riding. Just my 2 cents.

Coaster,
It has 2 straps on each side that come down and close like a belt. The problem is that the way the wind comes in to the bag it pulls the middle up and out alittle. I put in some new holes to make the bag close tighter and it seemed to work this morning on the way to work. I will see what happens when i drive it later.
Tahnks alot.

dude, sounds like I bought the same bag as you. HD right? anyways, what I did was go out and buy some liquid nails and I used that to stick on my velcro....it's worked so far. but we'll see!! I've only ridden about 3,000 miles like that. I liked the look of this bag over the zipper one.

good luck.

If you have a local leather or tack shop, maybe you could put a snap in the middle.

What kind of pouch did you get? All HD fork pouches should come with a zipper along with velcro on top of that. Maybe return it for one that is secure?

I didn't like tool bag over the light eather and since I have a streached headlight it will not work under it. Check out my gallery. I built a bracket out of alum. plate that bolts through the holes under your foot pegs to attach your bag to. It lets air flow and keeps it from scratching any thing. Reather than loosing any thing else get a bag that closes better.

Naw, I got an HD one from an HD dealer, has the logo and tags to go with it. This one has two buckle straps on either side. No zipper, no velcro.
Nice lookin bag though, I liked it a lot better than the zipper/velcro ones.

So far so good with the new holes put in the straps. I have driven 50-70 miles and no problems. But I think I will be putting a small piece of metal on the bottom of the flap for extra support.
Thanks for ALL your support
