Hey All. Trying to figure out a way to put Harley touring bags on my wifes Slim. I know there are kits and bags on Amazon and eBay but the ones manufactured for Softails specifically says will not fit Slims. I guess Im wondering if thats due to the double pipes sitting really high or are the frames completely different compared to other Softails? MY plan is to replace the stock pipes with Vance and Hines Radius Two into Twos which should give me more room to install bags. I know Harley offers a kit but its pretty dam expensive. So I guess Im asking you gurus will they work or not? Cheers!
look at the fender strut bolt spacing & you will see why. you can put a delux rear fender/struts on and then you can do what you want. its not hard to remove the struts, only 4 bolts and the two rear blinker connectors
It may very well be the pipes. You see a lot of " *Does not work with shotgun pipes or any exhaust that is above the passenger footpeg " for Softail bag kits.
I really like the Hogworkz Softail conversion bag kit on my 2002 Fat Boy. But that hasn't had the original shotgun pipes since sometime in 2002 after I bought it new.
