I used neets foot oil when resurrecting my tired saddle bags. I'm satisfied with the results. I put one coat on the exterior, then used the rest on the inside. Did use some fancy leather conditioner as a second coat on the exterior.
Its cheap enough at your local feed & farm supply, but does smell funky.

I like mink oil on leather products. I have had the same tub for years, a little goes a long way. I used black shoe polish paste on my side bags to cover foot scrape marks and it did a super job.
I have a bottle of the Amour All leather treatment stuff --- It's, Ok - not overly impressed.

I've always been told Neatsfoot/Saddlesoap, etc.oil is hard on the stitching & not to use it on baseball mits, jackets, etc. I've used car wax like Turtlewax on my saddlebags for decades and furniture polish, like Pledge (when it had real wax in it). I still use the generic Pledge for cleaning my bikes & windshields (after washing).
Any oil product will soften leather, which is often a good thing. There are a few good water-proofing products for leather at shoe stores or at Wallys in the hunting dept. if you don't want any softening. I've never found a product that works for long periods for water-proofing.... sun seems to cook them all away in one Summer.
Age is beauty , my jacket, boots , seat and bags have age beauty that , is part of heritage for me . I treat all with Neets Foot Oil for many many years and miles . It will protect the leather you apply it to . It will not cover up the age marks . If you want it to look new , try something else . What was always told to me “ you can’t make a silk purse from a sows ear “
