Breakout no power to fuel pump
dave from Western Australia here im new to the group but have been reading posts for a while
ive just bought a 2013 breakout basket case and am slowly piecing it back together everything I'd working fine except I can't get the fuel pump to work (not getting a power feed from ecm not even at first power up) the bike will run fine if I power up the pump ,it does have a code up B2117 ( fuelpump output shorted high ) that I can't trouble shoot
New pump
Fuses are good
Stands up
out of gear
Wireing from pump to ecm continuity is good
Run stop switch turns bike off (when bike is running on supplied power)
# Info that may help
no co2 sensors hooked up
Fuelpump has continuity across the 2 terminals when not plugged in
Only has main 50amp fuse and 2 15amp fuses on whole bike under seat no relays(that i can find anyway)
Any help greatly appreciated
Cheers
If I read this correctly, you have powered the pump itself, so we know the pump is good, correct...?
With that code, it would suggest the power is not getting from the ECM to the pump....
Have you measured the output at the ECM to fuel pump pin with a volt meter to confirm ECM outout...?
If you have output from the ECM, might try running a wire from the ECM pin directly to the pump, taking the bike's harness out of the equation... that would confirm a problem with the wiring along the way between the two...
Good luck and report back when you find the issue...

the pump is brand new yes
Well, you seem to be on top of it....
At this point I would have to get professional help.... So someone smarter than me will have to help you decipher the results of your testing and/or suggest the next course of action.....
