I don't think LEDs nescarilly make it bright. You have to go by lumens. You want to covert it to get rid of secruity, is that what you are saying? Its a 20 year old bike, I would if I could. I find the fob annoying. I think about just leaving it on the bike. But then I think welll I got it I should use. Meanwhile my other bikes are not locked.
I have a TSM on my 01. You have TSSm which also provides secruity, right? If I am understanding you just want to install a TSM.
nope the opposite. I have tsm now and I want to swap the module to tssm.
You want secruity on a 20 year old bike? Around we don't even lock them.
when you say security it makes it seem like alarm, siren and the works. Like I was saying Id like to be able to quickly disable it when running around. I get the cost vs reward factor. And 20 years old or not, I know a lot of people with a lot of money in old bikes. Id rather someone not get on it and take off.

Agreed!
I've looked at this when I first got my Springer. My RKC had the TSSM and I liked having it. Wish I could just install the TSSM on my current ride. Waiting to see what the thinktank here comes up with!
The fob is nice is that it gives you some secruity without any effort. If you do lock your bike, it would be nice to have, to avoid having to lock and unlock.
not a problem I do plan to. I’d even like to post a picture once its all cleaned up. 🙂 I had a sportster before, but a lady hit me and totaled it. This is my first softail
My 04 Softail FI has the Harley security. Not the siren. Worked well. I mainly liked it since I rarely locked the forks or tank key. Had the security set to ones, so no need to worry about FOB battery.
However, I did replace a few over the years. I also had a bulb LED in the brake light to replace the regular bulb. I had a Harley diode plug and play adapter in the tail light harness.
That and red lens in the rear signal lights gave me 3 brake lights.
The led would not work on my bike without adding resistance.
Your right about people not seeing a Harley or any motorcycle in fact. Mainly because they look right thru them or aren't looking. My white Harley and red, white and blue flag full face Shoei helmet made a little difference I think.
It's not unusual that if a biker doesn't practice defensive driving, someone will pop you once ever two weeks.

I have the TSSM on my 2001 Springer w/carb and I have the TSSM on my 2003 Heritage w/EFI. I like that the security system on these years is an active system.
It has been years since I have actually activated the security system when parked in public.
I don't frequent the same "class" of places I did when I was younger... But the few times I activated the security.... I felt better...
Mr. H one more question if you're still monitoring this post. I went ahead and grabbed a service manual pdf from a link posted somewhere here and I think I'm gonna try and do this myself. After what you said I wasn't gonna take any risks and was going to order the tssm new from the hd website or ronnies. All I'm seeing is the hdi (international models) 68925-00D. Just double checking I won't have any problems with this international model will I? Thanks

No.... You have the right suffix, but are off one number on the part number I mentioned....
As I mentioned in my post above, the online parts finder shows your updated TSSM part number is 68923-00D (NOT 68925-00D).
I mentioned it was showing as an obsolete part, and unavailable from the MoCo as a new part...
It is possible the international TSSM will work, but you would have to verify that from an official Harley source... I am not sure what the differences are between the two...

39 in your picture should be the international model (68925) if you could confirm please?
