Default Need help

Hey fellas, I'm new here and need help. I want to put a 23in wheel on my 99 fxst and been researching on the amount of rake needed to do the job. Some say 4 degree, some say 6 and others say just lower the front 1.5 to 2 in. Has anyone done this, and how did you do it?

It all depends what kind of look you're going for. You can go to a 23-in rim but will need to extend the fender mounts to get the clearance. As for rake and trail you don't have to change the rake any to accept a 23" setup.. The only tire I could find in the 23-in class is a 23-60/130 which has a overall diameter of 29.14".. If you put those numbers into a rake and trail calculator you'll only pick up .55" in trail from stock from 5.67" to 6.22" which is identical to the Fatboy trail.. It will add stability at speed and might decrease your handling in the twisties a tad but not a lot.. it'll make it feel a little heavier or slower in the twisties.. and it'll only pick up your overall height in the front end by 1 in.. Keep in mind this is based on a 23-60/130 tire which is pretty much about all I could find in the 23-in tire size. If you go to a tire that has a larger diameter it'll change all of that ..
