Best set up for beginers

Hello, question for the seasoned riders.
im not familiar with riding cruisers much, and wanted to ask what the best most well rounded tire set up for stability and control would be?
On an older softail standard, would a wider back tire (like maybe putting on a 250) and a shorter wider front tire (maybe a 16) be the best for stability and control, over the stock rear tire and 21 thinner front tire?

I have the bike now. It fits the best out of the bikes I've tried, looks great, just searching ideas for optimal safety/stability.
I'm open to ideas on set up.
So far i think as above, stock tires/rims and practice seems to be the way to go
