I have 2007 softail custom FXSTC. I just installed the color changing speedo/tach 70900070B I was able to change the clock very simple. But following directions (and following YouTube directions that are different) to enter setup mode all I get is the “DIAG” mode and I have no clue what the codes mean in that mode. I have aftermarket LED head lamp and removed all turn signals months ago. Some say aftermarket electrical equip can throw this off but I don’t have any. Anyone have this issue that overcame it? Please help.
The "color changing speedo/tach" is an analog combination speedo/tach that gives you the option of changing the color of various features. I have one on my 2012 Heritage. Below are the steps I use to enter the different setup functions. I can't say that it will work the same for you but it certainly can't hurt to try. It also gives more instruction on the diagnostic mode.
Be aware whether it says to turn ignition to "accessory" or "ignition" as well as the position of the Run/Stop switch. These are easily overlooked.
I installed one on my deluxe 2008 model. The first step is to plug straight into the ecu via the tuning cable. Been a while. This programs the speedometer before use.
