It took all day to charge up this fairly new battery. My meter was set to the 10 amp DC scale and it read point 8 amps. I was afraid to set it to milli amps as my meter only reads that scale up to 200 milli amps. Plus the fact that the battery was virtually dead the next day leads me to believe that it is in fact a huge parasitic draw.

Sounds like you did it right, and yes, nearly an amp of off-key draw is a battery smoker.
Even on a group 31 battery, 8 tenths of an amp would drain it overnight to the point a vehicle would not start.

The battery stayed fully charged overnight, although it had been disconnected from the battery cables. Still in the process of disconnecting harnesses individually. I removed the fuel tank and then when I disconnected the IAC connector the parasitic draw went from .8 amps to .38 amps. Could this be my smoking gun?? I know that this draw still seems a bit high but I also noticed that when I turn the meter on, the anti-skid solenoid energizes and I'm thinking this is normal and drawing that .38 amps.
