My wife is having issues with her Deluxe. Its a new to her bike only has like 3500 miles. We were out today and after getting gas her fob battery acted like it went bad. She got a fob message on the display, sorry cant remember what it said. We then had to enter her pin. Got home got her spare fob, put new battery in it, doing same thing. Both fobs have new battery and security system is not recognizing them. Any ideas?

Check the security system antenna module, its connection , and/or its wiring to make sure all is well.. It is a rectangular plastic piece, part #68956-07.
Here's one on eBay, so you can see what it looks like.
It's usually near the ECM and battery. On '16 my touring bike it's just forward of of the battery and has a clip for it on the ECM mounting tray. My softails are older, with a different security system, so I'm not sure where this antenna is on a softail model.
Hopefully someone will chime in with its exact location for you..
PS- Also, make sure the batteries are placed in the FOBs correctly.... you'd be surprised how many people pop them in upside down, and then they won't work...
Here is where the antenna is located on the Deluxe.
Your bike is the new mono-shock frame. That location is good to know, but is different from the OP's bike.
The OP has a true Softail model, with the shocks under the frame.
I suspect his antenna is forward of the rear tire splash guard, on the electrical caddy. Depending where it's mounted on that caddy, it can be a pain to get to..
Sorry Guys I put the wrong bike, I also have a '16 Softail too, it's here....
It is possible your antenna is fitted the other way round, i.e. the connector on the other side, as it is shown in the manual but it will be still in the same location behind the battery and by the Fuses!
However if your bike is actually an earlier model year 2015 which has a different ECU, the antenna will be fitted above the ECU as below, but is still the same antenna (even on the M8 Softails)!
