I had to replace the battery on my bike .. and I was also removing the speakers that were installed … I cut the wire that was tapped into the acc fuse . Then I put the new battery in and forgot to pull out that wire .. when I started the bike it clicked once .. then fired up the second time … now my rear marker lights are not working correctly … only working when the turn signal is on so no running rights or brake lights .. middle light is fine .. already checked all the 10 amp fuses

I am unfamiliar with the specific model you have, the NightTrain. But I own and have worked on several Twin Cam Softails...

I'm "thinking out loud", so bear with me...

Usually, unlike the front turn signals, the rear turn signals only come on when turn signals are activated...

Many switch the rear lenses to red, and add a Run/Turn/Brake module to allow the rear turn signals to work in the run & brake modes, as well as turn signals...

So I have to ask, what Run/Turn/Brake module are you using....?? Possibly it got jacked up when you did your electrical work, and that will cause all sorts of wierd stuff to happen with the turn signals..

I also notice that your front turn signals don't appear to be "on" as running lights either... That could be due to a messed up R/T/B module, or you have another problem.

The rear bulbs are usually single filament/single bayonet #1156 bulbs. Your rear bulbs flash, so the bulbs themselves appear to be good. The front signals usually use dual filament/dual bayonet #1157 bulbs. So your front signal bulbs could be bad, but that shouldn't affect the rear signals...

If you don't have a bad R/T/B module, I would then suspect a bad ground somewhere in the system. Recheck the ground cable on the battery you just installed... check both ends. Where that ground cable attaches to the frame, at the rear of the fuel tank, that connection can get loose and cause all sorts of electrical issues, including the "click" you heard when you first tried to start the bike after the battery change.

Lastly, your rear center brake light usually plugs into a circuit board, just behind the light. Sometimes (model specific) the rear turn signals also plug into that circuit board. If that's the case on your model, it's possible you jacked up that circuit board doing your electrical work.

So in short:

1) Check your R/T/B module.

2) Check grounds, especially the battery to frame ground.

3) Check the circuit board behind your rear center brake light.

Let us know what you find...
