Default Baffle install

I am going to attempt to install a pair of baffles in my BSS's. I remember reading about some type of compound that was recommended for reinstalling the pipes to the cylinders to help with the decel pop. Anyone know what I am talking about? Copper something or another?

You should only use a gasket to put the pipes on the cylinders. Don't use Copper RTV, it will just make a huge mess and you might get goop in the cylinder.

You also do not need to remove the pipes to put the baffles in.
A screw in the back and they slide right out.

I lubed my Q baffles up until they were dripping with WD-40. I don't think I'd have ever gotten them in the pipes otherwise. Did you get them in yet?

Put the baffles in the freezer for an hour or so. Makes them smaller.

I had a problem at first getting the baffles out. Finally, I took the screw that came out of the outside and installed it inside the baffel where the threads areand then took an open/box wrench and used the box wrench end over the screw and gave it a tug andthe bafflepopped out.

I tried to swap the baffles out myself, but I gave up after breaking two wrenches trying to get the set screws out. I called the dealer and they said they would swap em out for $20. Gonna get it done next wednesday. Hopefully i will regain some low end torque. Thanks for your responses.

Here's a trick I did to run with baffles out and still get back pressure.
Go to the harward store and buy 2- 1/4" X 1-1/4" hex head full tread bolts and 4 nuts and two lock washers. Put these into the hole your original screw went into. Run the 2 nuts down tight with the lock washers between the nuts. This will cause turbulance in your open pipes and give you some back pressure and great sound. Easy on the thottle through quite neighborhoods.
