Default Brake light not working

I've got a 2010 Deluxe and have been switching all lighting to LED and haven't had an issue until I got to the brake light. So I first installed headlight, passing lights and front blinkers and everything worked including brake light (which was still 1156 type bulb) then changed brake light with 1156 LED bulb and no brake light from either front or rear brake pedal? I switched bulb back to original 1156 and no brake light? By the way all of these LED lights are plug and play fitting original sockets and so far the blinkers never hyper flashed, I'm only now having no brake light no matter what bulb I'm using and it was working fine before the first time I changed it to the LED version? I checked fuses and there all good so I've hit a wall on this, any ideas anyone? Thank you...

Need to check the contacts in the housing/socket for voltage (12VDC) using a volt ohm meter (VOM) to see if there is voltage. If not voltage start checking backwards from the socket until you find where voltage is, then go from there.

You may want to check the original bulb for continuity, you can do that with a VOM also.

Thanks C Breeze for confirming next step, as it turns out I now have hyper flashing and one blinker not working at all so I believe a load equalizer is needed. Maybe this will effect brake light issue somehow if I'm lucky, will post results.
Thanks again for your input.

Follow up: As it turns out both brake light switches were bad, I think when I bought the bike a few months ago the front hand brake switch must not have been working and then the rear went bad sometime later and I didn't notice until upgrading lighting to LED. Changing the hand brake light switch was pretty fussy I must say!
