I have a 2010 nightster
I just changed the brake light bulb but now, when I brake, the stop light won't light up and I just don't know why.
I have the auxiliary brake light kit (where the back turn lights light up when you brake). All the lights are on when I turn on the switch, but the don't light up when I hit the brake.
Does anyone know what is going on?
Thanks
I assume the brake light function of the signals is still working? if so, IFIRC when I put my module in there was no wire coming out of the box for the center brake light anymore (the only brake lights were the signals) so I taped into the input side of the brake light wire for my center LED brake light. If yours is the same maybe there is a bad connection at that point.
The only thing that can be wrong is the new bulb IMHO! I'm not sure what type it is, but are there more than one very similar versions that are interchangeable? Or simply try yet another one, to see if the lights work correctly. Is there a separate fuse for the stop light?
what grbrown said. Post the model number of the new bulbs you put on and any pictures you have of them. Did you put on the old bulbs and check the brake lights?
There are different types of bulbs....single filament dual filament. My saddlebags had a single filament LED. I tried to install an converter to use the single filament as a running/brake light it would not work so I tapped into the brake light wiring under the seat to use the LED as a brake light. Works fine now. So if you only changed the bulb, it could be the wrong bulb. Not sure how the axiliary brake light kit fits into the picture.

No brake light function is working. They all just go on, but when I brake none of them light up harder

I tried two different bulbs and they did the same. Just so you get the picture, I only changed the bulb in the original brake light, not in the turn lights

The one that I left conected is a Phillips 3157 H3, and here I'm attaching pictures of the other bulb I used.
