Default Is A Rake Kit Possible

Hello,

I am the owner of a 2004 HD FXSTSI Springer that has been lowered both front and back. In the front, the forks have been chopped 2" under stock. I am considering adding a rake kit to my existing setup. The rake kit that I am considering is from Vulcanworks and is designed to increase the rake by 4.5 degrees. Before purchasing the kit, however, I wanted to take the time to ask if adding said kit to my current setup is possible, since the bike has already been lowered 2 inches in the front and the kit would lower the front end by approximately another 2 inches. Thank you for your response.

Jake

From here it looks like the bottom of the frame is sitting pretty level. Whoever did the lowering appears to have done a good job. If you rake it, the front of the frame will be going downhill and will look terrible. If for some reason you want the rake, you need to put the length back in the forks. Good luck.

Here’s an old thread that should answer your question Jake of Spades. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...-rake-kit.html

I don't know the answer, but I used a rake kit once and it made my bike [scary] unstable at high speeds.... just saying
