Can't believe I actually did this... dumbest thing in 55 years. In the process of installing the flush mount gas cap and gas gauge, I cut off the wrong end of a connector from the harness to the gauge. Don't ask...
I know the connectors are AMP Multilock, but are they commonly available? The crimp tool? I am more than familiar with wiring (you would never know it from this f--- up) crimp tools, etc. Just a major brain dead moment! I am sure they are not cheap, but I don't have a problem with buying quality tools. I would rather crimp these correctly than attempt to solder and try to re-crimp. I just need a source. I live in Northern Virginia if that matters.
I still can't believe it...
well according to the service manual they sell a amp repair kit, HD-39621-A, i dont know whats in it.
and the parts are readily available from the steeler, I use these when insting anything into my harness, it tends to retain the "stockness" of it instead of thos crimp on crap. The PARTS MANUAL, #9945-07A shows these as the parts connected to the fuel guage and main harness.
ok, i believe your talking about the 3 wires coming from the original left side gas guage? these are the parts at the end of the fuel guage unit.
terminal pin need 3, 72990-01
housing need 1, 72904-01BK
now the #'s for the housing into the main harness is 72914-01BK, u need 1
the terminal pins for this housing is 72291-94, u need 3
