Little hint. At least what I do.

I take my ratchet, extension and socket and break it lose. Then a take a piece of the cardboard tube in a paper towel roll and cut off about 6" long.

I slide it up between shocks and over the drain plug. It will stay. Then I take my long Allen wrench and use that to drop plug and wrench into my low plastic catch container.

Work for me with bike on the jiffy stand sitting on a piece of 2X4. Then I do the same for the engine and primary oil.

I level it for oil levels.

I do all three together. Over kill but what's 2 more quarts when you do it yourself? And there's no filter on primary and transmission and there alway chips of metal in them.
